








Year 11 Advanced Speech
Collin succeeded with an exceptional 96% for his Year 11 Advanced class speech on AI Misinformation and Manipulation.
In his speech, he outlined the ways that AI can be easily weaponised by spreading disinformation, sabotaging democracy and facilitating fraud and discussed ways to protect the integrity of society.
Colin worked hard on his skills of presentation to achieve this wonderful result.

Stunning Exam Result
Sean has capitalized on just four months of lessons with a fabulous 80% result in his End of Year English Examination.
Sean was set a task to write an extended response comparing a painting with an unseen ekphrastic poem written in response to the painting, analysing how the composers represent their experience of life through their choice of form or language.

Topping the Class
Owin's meteoric rise continues in the best way! He achieved an outstanding 96% for his explanation writing about tides. Owin's efforts have seen him move to the top of his class in extra fast time!

Fantastic Improvement

Winner's Circle
Thomas has taken out the first place ribbon in two events in his school's Athletic's Day. The events that he placed first in were the 1500m race and the 800m race.

Connections Excellence
Aneesh has worked on a Connections assignment studying the question: How groups gain and maintain power within society.
He has examined four texts - "Nineteen Eighty-Four," by George Orwell, "The Lives of Others," directed by Florian Von Donnersmarck, Selina TUsistala Marsh's poem, "Two Nudes on a Tahitian Beach," and Carol Ann Duffy's poem, "Standing Female Nude." His essay comments on systems of power that silence, manipulate and exploit. This essay is his final internal for Year 13.

Year 12 Advanced
Lily achieved an outstanding 19/20 for her essay on The Tempest by William Shakespeare and Hagseed by Margaret Atwood. She answered the question, "The textual conversations between The Tempest and Hagseed deepens our understanding of humanity’s capacity for transformation." Evaluate this statement in light of your own reading of 'The Tempest' and 'Hagseed.'
What a wonderful start to Year 12 Advanced.

Fabulous Result
Arjun has made wonderful improvement since starting lessons. He achieved a wonderful 80% result on a speech about climate change. Arjun worked from a starting quote from Margaret Mead, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
He cited the problem and goals to stop the effects from escalating.

Wonderful Progress
Viaan achieved a wonderful 95% in his spelling test at the end of last term. Furthermore his teacher reported that he is coming along very well in all areas including literature and persuasive writing.

Top Flight
Patti has achieved a wonderful Excellence result in Level 3 NCEA with her research and identity speech based on the novel, "The Namesake," by Jumpha Lahiri. Patti answered the question, How growing up in an immigrant family forces you to reshape your identity during adolescent years. She included research and content links to the real world.

Top Student
Alex has been rewarded for his outstanding attendance and grades with a trip to Perisher Ski Resort. He is one of just fifty students at his school selected for the prize.
Alex is currently studying the film Pleasantville directed by Gary Ross for his Year 11 English class. He must prepare a presentation of a scene from the movie and look at the message that Ross is trying to communicate in a broader view of the film whilst discussing a critical reading of the film.
